Ridgeway Theatre School – Confidence, Creativity, and Fun for Every Child

Founded in 1989, Ridgeway Theatre School has inspired generations of young performers through classes, productions, and professional opportunities. We welcome boys and girls from the age of three upwards, offering part‑time training in all aspects of the performing arts.

Whether your child attends once a week for enjoyment or dreams of a career in theatre, Ridgeway provides the guidance, encouragement, and expertise to help them shine.

Our Programmes

From beginners to advanced performers, Ridgeway offers a wide range of classes and opportunities, including:

•  Acting & LAMDA examinations

•  Singing & Piano

•  Ballet, Tap & Modern Dance (ISTD syllabus)

•  Jazz & Street Dance

•  Acrobatics & Tumbling

•  Zumba & Latin American Dance

•  Saturday Workshops & Summer School

•  Masterclasses with West End professionals

•  Open Days & Private Lessons across all classes

Productions & Performance

Every year, Ridgeway stages plays, pantomimes, and musicals, combining singing, dancing, and acting in full‑scale productions. Students are encouraged to audition, gaining confidence, teamwork skills, and unforgettable memories. Past productions include GodspellOur Country’s GoodDon’t Dress for Dinner, and pantomimes such as Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast. These experiences give children the thrill of live theatre while strengthening their skills.

Beyond the Classroom

Ridgeway goes further than weekly classes. Students take part in filmmaking projects, record CDs in professional studios, and attend masterclasses with actors and directors from shows such as Avenue QHairspray, and Phantom of the Opera. For those wishing to pursue professional opportunities, Ridgeway operates a dedicated Theatrical Agency, representing students in film, television, theatre, and commercials.

Pathways & Progression

Many Ridgeway pupils take LAMDA examinations in Acting, Verse & Prose, and Musical Theatre, as well as ISTD Dance exams, building confidence, poise, and recognised qualifications. Alumni have progressed to drama schools, conservatoires, West End productions, and teaching careers — proof that Ridgeway training opens doors to the future.

Our Approach

Every child is supported by our caring, highly qualified staff, many of whom actively work within the industry. We nurture individuality, encourage creativity, and build resilience, ensuring that students grow not only as performers but also as confident young people. Classes run Monday to Saturday, offering flexibility for busy families.

At Ridgeway, we believe in developing well‑rounded performers — children who grow in confidence, make friends, and discover their passion for the arts in a safe, supportive environment.
